  • You must hold a temporary Partner (Provisional) visa (Subclass 309) or Dependent Child visa (Subclass 445).
  • You must be in a genuine and ongoing relationship with your partner.
  • You must meet specific visa and relationship criteria, including:
    • Holding a Partner (Provisional) visa (Subclass 309) or Dependent Child visa (Subclass 445).
    • Having held the combined 309 and 100 visas for at least two years, unless you were in a long-term relationship or your sponsor held a specific visa before you applied.
    • Continuing to meet the relationship criteria, such as being married or in a de facto relationship, having a genuine and ongoing relationship, living together or not living permanently apart, and being mutually committed to a shared life, excluding other partners.
  • You must meet the health and character requirements.
  • You must have no outstanding debts owed to the Australian government or have made arrangements to repay any debts.
  • The visa may not be granted if it is not in the best interests of an applicant under 18 years old.
