Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)

The Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) lets nominated skilled workers live and work in Australia as permanent residents. This visa is points-tested, and you need to submit an expression of interest and be nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency to apply.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190), you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be invited to apply for this visa after submitting an expression of interest (EOI) and being nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency
  • Have a suitable skills assessment for your nominated skilled occupation
  • Be under 45 years of age at the time of invitation
  • Score at least 65 points on the points test
  • Have at least competent English at the time of invitation
  • Have your occupation on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations for the 190 Skilled Nominated visa
  • Meet the health and character requirements
  • Have paid back any debt to the Australian government
  • Sign the Australian values statement
  • Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused while in Australia
