Changes to U.S. Visa Fees in OmanWednesday, 11 April 2012
According to a recent press release the U.S. will make changes to its visa processing fees in Oman starting from April 13, 2012. Under the new changes, the visa fee for most non-immigrant visa applications for the U.S. will increase while all immigrant visa processing fees will go down. The increase in non-immigrant visa fees will help to cover the addition and expansion of overseas facilities, as well as additional staff required to meet increased visa demand, according to the press release of the U.S. Embassy in Oman. In terms of immigrant visa processing fees, there will be a decrease in all categories as follows:
"The State Department is required to recover, as far as possible, the cost of processing visas at all its embassies and consulates through the collection of application fees" said the U.S. Embassy in the press release.
