SUMMER WORK/TRAVEL EXCHANGE (J-1) VISA
The Summer Work/Travel program provides foreign post-secondary students the opportunity to travel and work while in the United States during their summer vacation for up to four (4) months.
The applicant may intern with a US business or engage in any non-skilled work including working in hotels, resorts, and restaurants. Internships must be completed within four months and may be in any area of interest of the applicant.

SUMMER WORK/TRAVEL EXCHANGE VISA (J-1) BASIC REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for an Exchange visa under the Summer Work/Travel program, the applicant must be currently engaging in full-time post-secondary studies outside the United States. Before applying for the visa, the applicant must locate a sponsoring organization and meet the requirements of the sponsoring organization selected. Finally, applicants may be required to meet certain health and character requirements.
SUMMER WORK/TRAVEL EXCHANGE VISA (J-1) ENTITLEMENTS
An Exchange visa holder under the Summer Work/Travel program is entitled to work and travel throughout the United States during their summer vacation for up to four (4) months. The areas of work in which applicants may engage in are summer internships and non-skilled work, such as work in hotels, resorts, and restaurants.
