REGISTERED NURSE VISA (H1-C) BASIC REQUIREMENTS
The Registered Nurse Visa requires applicants to obtain a visa to work and live in the US if the purpose of their stay is for employment at a US healthcare facility in an area of need. To qualify for the Registered Nurse Visa, applicants must be licensed to practice professional nursing in their home country. Also, applicants must obtain licensing in their respective US State prior to the start of their employment or obtain a temporary license.
Applicants may also be required to meet certain health and character requirements as well as, in some instances, English language requirements.
REGISTERED NURSE VISA (H1-C) ENTITLEMENTS
Registered Nurse Visas are granted for a period of a 3-year stay in the United States. No further extensions are possible under this category. However, applicants can extend their stay by applying for another visa or for a US Green Card through their US employer.
Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 who wish to accompany or join the visa holder in the United States may obtain the relevant derivative visa. This will allow spouses and children to study in private or public schools in the United States without the need to obtain a Study Visa.
