Professional Entertainers, Athletes and Artists living abroad may enter the United States to make public appearances at events such as a cultural exchange, charity, or participate in a festival, talent show or sporting event.
ENTERTAINER ATHLETE, AND ARTIST VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS
The Entertainer, Athlete and Artist Visa requires prospective sponsors or employers to file a petition on behalf of the visa applicants to enter the United States. To qualify, applicants must be internationally recognized and destined to enter the United States to perform or participate in a specific event. Applicants may also be required to meet certain criminal and medical requirements.
ENTERTAINER ATHLETE, AND ARTIST VISA ENTITLEMENTS
Skilled (Work) Visa provides you with great flexibility to engage in various enjoyable activities during your temporary stay in the United States, including, tourism, travel throughout the country to all 50 states, attendance and/or participation in festivals, conferences, conventions, concerts, sporting and musical events. As well, you can visit with friends and family, or engage in short-term study.
For members of the entertainment industry, the visa will be issued for a specific event only. However, individual athletes may be admitted for five years and a team for a period of six months.
Spouses and/or children under the age of 21 who wish to accompany or join the principal visa holder in the United States for the duration of his/her stay require derivative visa status. Spouses and children of visa holders may study in private or public schools in the United States without obtaining a Study Visa. Spouses may apply for work authorization if seeking employment for their duration of stay in the United States.
