Citizens of Chile and Singapore may enter the United States to work in a specialty occupation under this visa. A “specialty occupation” is an occupation that requires highly specialized knowledge and at least a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in a specific field.

Applicants of the Chile & Singapore Free Trade Visa must be citizens of either Chile or Singapore. They must show that their employment in the US is directly related to their field of study. The job itself must be a specialty occupation and require at least a Bachelor degree-level qualification or equivalent work experience. The applicant may also be required to meet certain health and character requirements.


CHILE & SINGAPORE FREE TRADE VISA (H1-B1) ENTITLEMENTS

The Chile & Free Trade Visa is granted for an initial period of 1-year. Thereafter, extensions are granted in 1-year increments, indefinitely. Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 who wish to accompany or join the applicant in the United States may obtain the relevant derivative visa. This will allow spouses and children to study in private or public schools in the United States without the need to obtain a Study Visa.
