WORK VISAS TO THE UNITED STATES

PRIORITY WORKER VISA TO THE UNITED STATES

Persons who have demonstrated extraordinary ability in certain pre-defined areas of sciences, arts, education, business or athletics may obtain permanent residence in the United States if they have gained a national or international reputation in their area of expertise.

Applicants for this visa must provide evidence of their credentials, achievements and status as a leader in their field. In addition, they must also meet certain basic requirements. If successful, they will be entitled to obtain a US Green Card, which would allow the applicant to live and work in the US permanently.

Spouses and unmarried children under 21 years of age accompanying the principal visa holder to the United States may also obtain US Green Cards, allowing them to also live and work in the United States permanently.

PRIORITY WORKER VISA (EB-1) BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Priority Worker Visa applicants must convince an immigration officer that they have achieved extraordinary ability in their occupation and must show that, if granted permanent residence, they will substantially benefit the United States. While no job offer is required from a US employer for certain applicants, applicants must intend to work in the United States in their area of expertise. The assessment criteria for this visa is subjectively based. The applicant will also need to meet health and character requirements.

PRIORITY WORKER VISA (EB-1) ENTITLEMENTS

Priority Workers can live and work in the United States permanently. Their spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21 who wish to accompany the visa holder may also obtain US Green Cards.

Obtaining permanent residence in the US allows residents to take advantage of exceptional benefits. They may travel to and from the United States with few limitations, study and work in the US without any limitations, sponsor their close family members and apply for US citizenship when eligible to do so.
