VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

The United States requires students to obtain an Exchange Study/Student Visa prior to entry and show that the purpose of their stay is to participate in a cultural or educational exchange program. Basic requirements include proof of acceptance to a qualifying program and proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of attendance. In addition, students must maintain their residence abroad and show proof of binding ties to insure their return home. Students may also be required to meet certain criminal and medical requirements.

VISA ENTITLEMENTS

Exchange Study/Student Visa provides great flexibility in allowing you to engage in various activities during your stay in the United States, including, travel throughout the country to all 50 states, attendance to festivals, conferences, conventions, sporting and musical events, and visits to world-renowned monuments, memorials and museums.

An extension may be permitted for participants for up to 30 days for travel at the end of their exchange experience.

Spouses and children of students are entitled to apply for a derivative visa and accompany the principal into the United States. In addition, spouses and children may study in the United States without applying for a study permit, however they will not be permitted to work without applying for work authorization.
