The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is an internationally recognized qualification for students aged between 16 and 19. It is based around detailed academic study of a wide range of subjects, including languages, the arts, science, math, history and geography. This provisional arrangement will be remain in place until 15 September 2011.

Other UK student visa applicants, are reminded of the following additional guidance:

  • Student visa applicants using the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) to demonstrate their English language ability will need to make their online results available to the UKBA who will verify the results.
  • 18 and 19 year old International Students currently in the UK may be entitled to extend their stay in the UK as a Tier 4 (Child) Student if they are currently studying in the UK as a Tier 4 (Child) Student or as a student under the regulations before 31 March 2009 if they were granted permission to stay in the UK when they were under 18 years of age.
