MINISTER OF RELIGION VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS
In order to qualify for this category, you must obtain prior entry clearance. You must show that you have been working for at least one year as a minister of religion, or that you have been ordained after training for the ministry. The training must be at least one year full-time or two years part-time.You must also show that you plan to work full time as a minister of religion in the UK and that you will not need help from public funds.
Applicants wishing to come to the UK as ministers of religion will be required to provide an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) certificate demonstrating their language skills at an appropriate level.
MINISTER OF RELIGION VISA ENTITLEMENTS
You will be initially granted two years under this category. An extension of stay may be granted for a further three years provided that the Home Office is satisfied that the main immigration requirements are met.After five years as a minister of religion, you will be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain and settle in the UK without any limitations or conditions. Under the current law, you will be able to apply for British Citizenship having spent 12 months with indefinite leave to remain.
Your spouse and children under 18 are entitled to join or accompany you after having obtained permission from the relevant immigration authorities. Family members will be able to extend their stay in the UK in line with you. They may also be able to work without any restrictions and apply for settlement.
