BUSINESS VISAS TO THE UK

The Business Visa permits individuals to come to the UK and set up a new business, or join or take over an existing business.

A Business Visa is initially granted for a maximum period of two years. This visa is extendable, assuming all relevant requirements are satisfied, and it may eventually lead to permanent residence and British Nationality.

Please note Nationals of countries that have signed the European Community Association Agreement currently Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey do not have to show the requirement to invest £200,000.

The Business Visa is the oldest form of business Visas available from the UK Authorities. This visa type permits individuals to come to the UK and set up a new business or join or take over an existing business in the UK.

In order to qualify for this Visa it is essential to present a detailed business plan outlining your intentions in the UK. It is not necessary to have previous business experience.

BUSINESS VISA ENTITLEMENTS

Applicants applying for a Business Visa will normally be granted leave for an initial period of 12 months. Subject to meeting certain criteria the Border & Immigration Agency (Home Office) may extend the applicant's stay for up to a further four years, to make a total of five years. Five years spent in this category may then lead to indefinite leave to remain and ultimately British Nationality.

Dependants such as your married partner or civil partner and children under the age of 18 may be able to accompany/join you on your application. Children who reach the age of 18 after having been admitted as dependants may also be able to extend their visas. Dependants may also be able to work without any restrictions.

You can work full time in the Business interest/company for which permission to enter the UK was sought.
