The Au Pair Visa allows young people from certain countries to come to the UK for up to two years.

An Au Pair placement is an arrangement where a young person comes to the UK to live and work with an English speaking family in order to improve their English.

AU PAIR VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

This visa has many basic requirements to be met such as age, nationality, marital status etc.

The placement must allow the applicant to study the English language and also assist the family with domestic chores (usually childcare) in the home for a maximum of 5 hours per day. The applicant will be paid a reasonable allowance by the family and receive two days holiday a week free from family commitments and chores.

AU PAIR VISA ENTITLEMENTS

You may travel in and out of the UK for up to two years whilst your Au Pair Visa is valid. You can switch to a Visitor or Student (degree level) or Partner/Spouse/Civil partner from within the UK.

Placements can be for less than 2 years and be consecutive for example a 6 month placement followed by another and so on up to 2 years.

Au Pairs have the option of applying for a 6 month visitor Visa at the end of the 2 year stay.
