ACCESSION 8 WORKER REGISTRATION TO THE UK
Members of the Accession 8 countries that joined the European Union on 1st May 2004 are subject to the Worker Registration Scheme and must obtain a certificate within one month of beginning employment in the UK. The Worker Registration Scheme is applicable to nationals of the following countries: Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia. After completing one year of work with a UK employer the registered Worker can apply for a residence card that gives them full rights in the UK in line with nationals of other EU countries.

ACCESSION 8 WORKER REGISTRATION BASIC REQUIREMENTS
You must be a national of one of the following Countries:
Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary or the Czech Republic.
You are currently, or intend on being, employed in the UK on or after 1st May 2004 OR you are a student who is also working on or after 1st May 2004.
ACCESSION 8 WORKER REGISTRATION ENTITLEMENTS
You will be issued with a registration card and a registration certificate. Upon successful completion of a one year registration period you are entitled to the same rights as the original members of the European Union.
