VISITOR'S VISA TO NEW ZEALAND

RESIDENCE APPLICANT VISITOR'S VISA TO NEW ZEALAND

Residence applicants who need to travel to New Zealand to obtain occupational registration are a special category of visitor under visitor's visa policy. This category allows individuals who have applied for permanent residence to undertake the training needed for their registration, whilst on a visitor's permit.

NEW ZEALAND RESIDENCE APPLICANT VISITOR'S VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

To obtain a visitor's visa under this category, applicants will need to have already filed a residence application and provide evidence of the training they will be doing. They must also meet the basic health and good character criteria.

As with general visitors, applicants also need to meet the basic health and good character requirements, have travel arrangements to leave New Zealand when their permit expires and sufficient funds to support them during their stay.

NEW ZEALAND RESIDENCE APPLICANT VISITOR'S VISA ENTITLEMENTS

Holders of a visitor's visa and/or permit approved under this policy may be able to undertake practical training towards occupational registration in New Zealand for up to 3 months, but may not work or undertake a course of study longer than 3 months in duration. Applicants who require a longer stay to complete their training should apply for a work or student visa instead.
