VISITOR'S VISA TO NEW ZEALAND
CREW MEMBERS OF VESSELS OR AIRCRAFT VISA TO NEW ZEALAND
Crew members who are travelling to New Zealand to join their aircraft or vessel are included as a special category of visitor under visitor’s visa policy. This special category allows crew members to stay in New Zealand for up to 28 days.
NEW ZEALAND CREW MEMBERS OF VESSEL OR AIRCRAFT VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS
To obtain a visitor’s visa as a crew member of a vessel or aircraft, applicants must have documentation showing their engagement as a crew member in New Zealand.
As with general visitors, applicants also need to meet the basic health and good character requirements, have travel arrangements to leave New Zealand when their permit expires and sufficient funds to support their stay.
Persons who are from visa-free countries will not need to apply for a visitor’s visa before travelling to New Zealand and may be granted a visitor’s permit on arrival, subject to meeting the requirements outlined above.
Visa-free countries: Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay and Vatican City. Please note that Australian citizens are exempt from obtaining a visa.
NEW ZEALAND CREW MEMBERS OF VESSEL OR AIRCRAFT VISA ENTITLEMENTS
Approved crew members will be given a visitor's visa and/or permit allowing a maximum stay of 28 days. Individuals may not undertake any other form of employment during their stay in New Zealand.
