VISA BY BALLOT (PERMANENT) VISA CATEGORIES TO NEW ZEALAND

If you are a citizen of an eligible country, you may be eligible to apply for New Zealand residence.

From 1 April until 30 April, citizens of eligible countries can register for the annual ballot. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) enters details from the registration forms from all those people who meet the quota registration requirements into its computer system.

If your registration is drawn in the ballot, and once INZ has verified that you are eligible to apply for residence under the quota, you will be sent an invitation to apply for New Zealand residence.


VISA BY BALLOT (PERMANENT) BASIC VISA REQUIREMENTS

To obtain a Visa by Ballot Visa, it is necessary for you to fulfill the basic prerequisites set out by the NZ Immigration Service. These include meeting health and good character criteria.

The other basic visa criteria varies depending on the type of Visa by Ballot Visa you wished to apply for.

The different Visa by Ballot Visas include the following:

  • Pacific Access Category Ballot.
  • The other basic visa criteria includes the following: That you are a citizen of Kiribati, Tuvalu or Tonga under 46 years of Age at the closing date of the registration period.

  • Samoan Quota Ballot.
  • The other basic visa criteria includes the following: That you a citizen of Samoa under 46 years of Age at the closing date of the registration period.
