The Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports) Residence category is part of the Residence-from-Work policy, which gives migrants to the opportunity to work temporarily in New Zealand before applying for residence.

New Zealand is looking for a range of talented migrants to settle in New Zealand and help further the country’s international standing in arts, cultural and sporting fields.

This visa category allows applicants with exceptional talent in arts, culture or sport, who have two years to file a residence application.

NEW ZEALAND TALENT (ARTS, CULTURE AND SPORT) VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

To obtain a work visa and/or permit under the Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports) category, you must meet basic requirements set by Immigration New Zealand. These include meeting health and good character requirements.

Applicants must also be aged 53 years or under, have exceptional talents in their field and be sponsored by a New Zealand organisation of national repute.

NEW ZEALAND TALENT (ARTS, CULTURE AND SPORT) VISA ENTITLEMENTS

Persons who are approved a work visa and/or permit under this category will normally be issued with an open work permit, allowing them to work in any occupation for any employer in New Zealand, for up to 2 ½ years. You must, however, continue to remain connected to and make contribution to their relevant field in New Zealand.

Your partner and dependent children may also accompany you to New Zealand by applying for separate visitor, student or work permits.

Once you have worked for two years, you may be eligible to apply for residence, and include your partner and dependent children in that residence application.
