SKILLED MIGRANT VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for Skilled Migration, you (or your Partner) must be able to meet the basic visa requirements and meet the current pass mark. The basic visa criteria require you to meet specific age requirements, English language ability, health and character requirements.

In addition to meeting the basic visa requirements, you are also required to satisfy the current points test. Points can be claimed for several items including skilled employment/job offer, work experience, age and other bonus categories. The current pass mark for this via is 140.

SKILLED MIGRANT VISA ENTITLEMENTS

As a permanent resident, you will have the right to live, work and study in New Zealand indefinitely. When you are granted permanent residence, a visa label is placed in your passport as proof of your permanent residency.

Other benefits of holding permanent residence includes the ability to apply for citizenship once you satisfy the relevant residency requirements.
