WORK VISAS TO NEW ZEALAND

WORK TO RESIDENCE VISA TO NEW ZEALAND

Work to Residence Visas give migrants with desired skills and talent the opportunity to work temporarily towards residence in New Zealand. There are three categories of Work to Residence Visas:

  • Long Term Skill Shortage List
  • Talent (Accredited Employer)
  • Talent (Arts, Culture and Sport)

New Zealand is looking for a range of talented migrants to settle in New Zealand to fill skill shortages, and to help further the country's international standing in artistic, cultural and sporting fields. Individuals who have worked in New Zealand for 24 months on a Work to Residence permit may be eligible for permanent residence under the Residence from Work policy.

NEW ZEALAND WORK TO RESIDENCE VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

To obtain a Work to Residence Visa applicants must fulfil the basic requirements set by Immigration New Zealand. These include meeting health and good character criteria. Additional requirements depend on the Work to Residence category as follows:

Long Term Skill Shortage List - applicants must have a job offer for an occupation on the Long Term Skill Shortage List and meet the requirements set out on that list.

Talent (Accredited Employer) - applicants must be 55 years or under and have a job offer from an accredited employer with a minimum base salary of NZD$55,000.

Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports) - applicants must be 55 years or under, be internationally known in a field of arts, culture or sport and be sponsored by a New Zealand organisation of national repute.

NEW ZEALAND WORK TO RESIDENCE VISA ENTITLEMENTS

Approved applicants under the Work to Residence policy may be issued with a multiple entry work visa and a work permit allowing a stay of up to 30 months.

Long Term Skill Shortage List or Talent (Accredited Employer) work visas and/or permits will specify the occupation, employer and region of employment in which the holder may work. Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports) work visas will be 'open' and allow the holder to work in any occupation for any employer.

Partners and dependent children who wish to accompany work visa holders need to apply for a separate visitor, student or work visa.
