WORK EXCHANGE SCHEME VISA TO NEW ZEALAND

The Work Exchange Scheme policy aims to encourage the sharing of knowledge and skills between countries by allowing people to take part in approved work exchange schemes or government-to-government programmes. There are up to 1,000 places each year for participants in approved schemes.



NEW ZEALAND WORK EXCHANGE SCHEME VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

To obtain a Work Exchange Scheme Visa, applicants must meet the basic prerequisites set by Immigration New Zealand. These include meeting health and good character criteria.

Applicants must also provide evidence that they have been accepted into a work exchange scheme that has been approved by Immigration New Zealand. They must also have medical and dental insurance cover for the length of the exchange and have made travel arrangements to leave New Zealand at the end of the work exchange scheme.


NEW ZEALAND WORK EXCHANGE SCHEME VISA ENTITLEMENTS

Holders of a work visa and/or permit granted under the Work Exchange Scheme policy will be entitled to work in New Zealand in their Work Exchange Scheme for a maximum of 12 months. Immigration New Zealand must give special approval for any exchange that lasts longer than 12 months.
