SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT VISA TO NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID) full scholarship and dependent fee scholarship students are one of the main groups for foreign students in New Zealand. A 'scholarship' student visa allows students supported by NZAID to study at a New Zealand school or tertiary institution.
NEW ZEALAND SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS
To obtain a student visa, applicants must be a genuine student and meet the basic health and good character requirements for temporary entry.
As a scholarship student, applicants must have an offer of a place of study with an approved education provider, hold an NZAID scholarship. Dependent fee scholarship students must also have sufficient funds to support their stay in New Zealand, as well as evidence of arrangements to leave New Zealand after their student permit has expired.
NEW ZEALAND SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT VISA ENTITLEMENTS
Holders of a student visa and/or permit are entitled to study at the proposed education institution for the length of time specified on the visa. A student permit may be granted for the length of the course of study if fees have been paid in full, or for the period the fees have been paid for, up to a maximum of four years.
All student visas are endorsed as 'multiple entry' so that the holder may travel out of and return to New Zealand on multiple occasions during the life of the visa.
Student permit holders may not work unless their permit is endorse with conditions allowing up to 20 hours of work a week or they have obtained a variation of conditions.
