NEW ZEALAND PARENT OR GUARDIAN VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS
To obtain a Parent or Guardian Visa, applicants must meet the basic good health and character criteria, and be the parent or legal guardian of a student enrolling in school years 1 to 13, or who is aged 17 or younger. Applicants must also be genuine visitors – that is, they do not intend to work or undertake study (unless the course is less than 3 months in duration).
Applicants must have proof of arrangements to leave New Zealand at the end of their visa, and have sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay, or be sponsored by a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident who will provide accommodation and maintenance.
NEW ZEALAND PARENT OR GUARDIAN VISA ENTITLEMENTS
As the holder of a visitor visa, individuals will have the right to travel to and stay in New Zealand for the duration of the visa. Visitor visa holders cannot undertake employment, but may undertake a course of study that is less than 3 months long. Parent or Guardian visa holders cannot obtain a student or work permit, but may be eligible to apply for a variation of conditions for part-time work or study.
