BUSINESS/INVESTOR VISAS TO NEW ZEALAND
ENTREPRENEUR VISA NEW ZEALAND
The Entrepreneur residence visa is for individuals who have established a successful business in New Zealand and worked in the business for 2 years. The Entrepreneur category of residence aims to encourage successful business people, and their family, to settle in New Zealand and continue their contribution to the country's economic growth.
NEW ZEALAND ENTREPRENEUR VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for residence under the Entrepreneur category, applicants must:
- Have established, purchased, or made a substantial investment of at least 25 per cent in business operating in New Zealand;
- Have been self employed, or have worked in that business for at least 2 years;
- Show evidence that their business is benefiting New Zealand, and meets New Zealand employment and immigration law;
- Show that they and their partner and/or children have not applied for or received welfare assistance during their stay in New Zealand; and
- Meet normal health and character requirements, as well minimum English language requirements.
NEW ZEALAND ENTREPRENEUR VISA ENTITLEMENTS
Approved Entrepreneur visa applicants will be issued with a permanent residence visa and/or permit, which gives holders (and approved family members) the flexibility to settle and work anywhere in New Zealand indefinitely.
A returning resident's visa (RRV) will also be issued allowing the holder to travel in and out of New Zealand for up to two years as a New Zealand resident. After two years applicants may be eligible for an Indefinite RRV subject to meeting the relevant minimum residency requirements.
Permanent residents are entitled to the same rights and benefits as New Zealand citizens, including free access to public schools, subsidised tertiary education and other support, such as student loans, and subsidised public health services. Permanent residents may also apply for citizenship after satisfying the relevant residency requirements.
Another important benefit of permanent residence is the ability to sponsor close family members to New Zealand in the future.
