CULTURALLY ARRANGED MARRIAGE VISA TO NEW ZEALAND
People intending to marry a New Zealander in a culturally arranged marriage are included as a special category of visitor under visitor's visa policy. The 'Culturally Arranged Marriage' visa allows individuals to travel to New Zealand if they are to be married within three months.
NEW ZEALAND CULTURALLY ARRANGED MARRIAGE VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS
To obtain a visitor's visa for a culturally arranged marriage, applicants must meet health and good character criteria. Applicants must be supported by a New Zealand sponsor whom they are intending to marry and who meets character requirements for sponsors. Applicants must also provide proof that there is no legal obstacle that would prevent the marriage, and that the arrangement follows an accepted cultural tradition.
NEW ZEALAND CULTURALLY ARRANGED MARRIAGE VISA ENTITLEMENTS
Approved applicants may be issued with a visitor's visa authorising a stay in New Zealand of up to 3 months. Visitor's visa and permit holders cannot work, but may undertake a course of study that is less than 3 months long. Individuals who hold a Culturally Arranged Marriage Visa must be married within 3 months of their arrival.
