CANADIAN IMMIGRATION NEWS
Skilled workers offered more opportunities in Manitoba CanadaMonday, 23 February 2009 Manitoba's immigration minister, Nancy Allen, has undertaken an initiative to offer more opportunities for Skilled Immigrants to come to Canada under Manitoba's Provincial Nominee Program. The current global economic uncertainty has resulted in skilled labour shortages in several key areas in Manitoba, including biotechnology, social services, and information technology to name only a few. Canada's population is aging rapidly, and many key fields are experiencing shortages as a result. Allen suggests that a potential immigrant possessing the appropriate skills suited to Manitoba's unique requirements would be able to have their permanent residency processed more quickly if done through one of the provinces unique and diverse nominee programs.
