STUDENT WORK ABROAD PROGRAM VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

In order to qualify for a Working Holiday Visa, applicants must hold a valid passport from a country which has a reciprocal arrangement with Canada, be aged between 18-30 years of age at the time of the application, be a full-time student in some cases, have not previously been issued a SWAP Visa, possess no criminal convictions or serious medical conditions, and have sufficient funds for their intended stay in Canada.

STUDENT WORK ABROAD PROGRAM VISA ENTITLEMENTS

Under a SWAP Visa, you will be provided with assistance to organize your trip, your job search, assistance and orientation is Canada upon your arrival, accommodation arrangement and support.

There is generally no limitation on the type of work you can do during your SWAP Visa, and you are generally not limited to any one location in Canada. You can choose to work and travel anywhere across Canada, taking jobs for as long as you wish to stay in one particular place.

The duration of a Canadian SWAP will usually vary between 1-12 months. The Working Holiday Visa also provides an excellent opportunity to explore Canada should you have a future interest in permanent settlement. You can also pursue language, general interest of self-improvement studies.
