OCCUPATIONS UNDER PRESSURE WORK VISA

Each year, Canada welcomes over 90,000 workers to fill job shortages in key areas of the economy. Due to the difficulties experienced by employers for filling job vacancies due to labour market shortages, the regional occupational lists for occupations under pressure have been implemented.

This Visa allows for the expedited hiring of skilled workers with experience and training the in occupations listed. This is meant to alleviate the growing list of occupations for which Canada is experiencing severe labour shortages. Regional Lists currently exist for the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

The Regional occupations under pressure work Visa allow applicants with the relevant work experience and education for the listed occupations to be employed in Canada on a temporary basis.
