AUSTRALIAN WORK AND HOLIDAY VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

In order to qualify for a Work and Holiday visa, you must be between 18-30 years of age and you must hold a passport from a country which has a reciprocal arrangement with Australia.

This visa allows you to supplement the cost of your holiday through incidental employment. If your primary reason for travelling to Australia is to participate in the work force, you should consider a Visa designed for that purpose.

In order to qualify for a Work and Holiday visa, applicants must hold a passport from one of the following countries:

Work and Holiday Eligible Countries
Chile, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey and the United States of America. Australia has signed a Work and Holiday visa agreement with Bangladesh, but the arrangement has not yet been formalised. Details will be made available once released by the DIAC.

You are also required to satisfy certain health and character requirements in order to meet the visa criteria.

AUSTRALIAN WORK AND HOLIDAY VISA ENTITLEMENTS

The Work and Holiday visa is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of first entry, regardless of whether or not you spend the whole time in Australia. You are permitted to leave and re-enter Australia any number of times during the validity period of the visa.

You are permitted to work for up with 6 months with each employer and undertake up to 4 months of study or training.
