Australian electronic tourist visa to expand to Turkey

The Australian electronic tourist visa will soon be available to citizens of Turkey, according to an announcement from The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

Those Turkish who hold a service, special or diplomatic passport will soon have access to the e676 electronic tourist visa. From 20 September 2011, they can apply for this Australian Visa type online.

The advantages of visa electronic assessment process are as follows:

• The Visa application process is fast, secure and convenient.
• Applicants will have ability to check the progress of their Australian Visa online application electronically.
• A visa label is not required to appear in a passport.

In addition, the Australian Embassy in Ankara is available to help citizens of Turkey lodge their tourist visa application directly if they are unable to lodge an e676 application online or hold a standard Turkish passport.
