| Permanent Entry Visas: | Permanent entry visa applications from Lebanon and Syria are lodged, processed and decided in Beirut. Applications from Jordan and Iraq may be lodged in Amman, Jordan, but are processed and decided in Beirut. Applications from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen (the Gulf States) should be lodged in Beirut. They may be lodged in Dubai which will transfer them to Beirut for processing & decision. Applications from Cyprus apart from some Preferential Family applications are forwarded to Beirut for processing and decision. |
| Temporary Entry Visas: | Temporary entry visa applications from Lebanon and Syria are lodged, processed and decided in Beirut.
Until about the end of 2002 Beirut is processing & deciding temporary entry visa applications (except visitors, short term business visitors and students) from Jordan. These applications are lodged in Amman and transferred to Beirut. Beirut also processes and decieds visa subclas 457 Temporary Business Entry applications from the Gulf States. |
| Special Procedures: | Most applicants from areas outside Beirut use messengers/agents to lodge applications and to collect decisions/passports as there is no mail delivery service but a post office box system only. |
