AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS OWNER VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

The Business Owner Provisional Visa is for applicants who are owners or part owners of a business and are under 45 years of age at the time of lodging the application. Applicants over 45 years of age, but less than 55, may qualify for the State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner Provisional Visa which has a lower financial threshold.

Applicants are required to demonstrate that they have had an overall successful career with significant turnover in their nominated business for at least two out of the last four years before applying. Applicants must also demonstrate that they have at least vocational-level English.

In addition to satisfying the business turnover level, applicants must demonstrate that they have significant business and personal assets of a sufficient net value to settle in Australia. As part of the process, applicants should also prepare a detailed business proposal in order to demonstrate a realistic commitment to establish or participate in a qualifying business in Australia, and to maintain a substantial ownership and direct and continuous involvement in the management of that business. "

The Business Owner (Provisional) Visa type is designed to enable you to participate in a new or existing business in Australia. Family members will be able to accompany you on this Visa type. They will also enjoy work and study rights.

The Visa is valid for a period of 4 years and enables you to travel in and out of Australia freely during that period.

Upon satisfying certain requirements over a period of at least 2 years after holding this Visa type, you may qualify for permanent residence under the Business Owner (Residence) category. This second stage may also require sponsorship from a participating state/territory government.
