Tourism is the United Kingdom’s fifth largest industry. Although much of the 85 billion generated by tourism every year is centred in the UK’s major cities, more and more is trickling through to rural tourism destinations.

The new money for rural tourism promotion will largely go towards marketing materials, both in print and online, to promote rural UK destinations.

An increasing number of tourists from visa national countries, such as India, China and Mexico, are attracted to the UK as a tourism destination, as well as a migration destination. Visitors from these countries require a visa to visit the UK.
