Britain extends open arms to migrants

According to new research by the British Council, the United Kingdom is one of the most welcoming countries for newcomers compared with its peers in the European Union.

The United Kingdom also fared well against other migration destinations, including Canada.

The UK ranks highly in terms of policies in place that specifically help immigrants to achieve permanent residence, and eventually even citizenship.

More than 1 in 20 people in the UK were born outside of the European Union - accounting for almost 3.5 million people. Recent statistics indicate that the UK can expect this number to rise in the coming years.
