New British Visa Offices to Open in Thailand

Friday, 3 August 2007

Two new UK visa offices are set to open in Thailand, in Taipei and Kaohsiung.

Well over 25,000 visitor visas were issued by the UK visa office in Thailand over the last year, and almost 10,000 student visa applications were made. The new visa offices are expected to help ease the pressure on visa officers from the volume of UK visa applications from Thailand.

The new visa offices will be equipped to collect biometric data, such as finger prints and digital photographs, in an attempt to reduce the possibility of fraudulent visa applications.
