If you have children, and are planning to immigrate to Canada, you might just be in for a delightful surprise. According to a report released last month, Canadians are taking education much more seriously than in the past.

The report indicates that enrolment in post-secondary education in Canada is on the rise and that earning potential for graduates is increasing as enrolment in graduate studies has increased by 32%. This is an even higher and much more promising figure when comparing it to the 19% increase in undergraduate enrolment between 1994 and 2005.

Canada still needs skilled workers, as the report notes that the unemployment rate in 2006 for high school dropouts was triple that of university graduates. If you would like to know if you qualify for working in Canada, just fill in the free assessment form, which will give you results within the minute!

The report has also highlighted another improvement amongst the ladies. Women's enrolment at the graduate level is now equal to that of men.

In addition, student access to and use of computers and the Internet is well established in Canada relative to other countries. When immigrating to Canada, your kid will also benefit from Canadian schools' positive outlook on technology, making sure it's freely available to learners as needed.

Canada's average of six students per every school computer is among the most favorable. In fact, 89% of 15-year-olds had a home Internet connection, ranking second after Sweden (90%).

Your children will also learn about balancing work and play from early on, as many of their Canadian peers will be doing just that. It's been found that a growing numbers of students are juggling work and studies.

In 2005-06, just over half of all students aged 17 to 29 were working while they attended school. At every age in this range, the percentage of students with jobs was higher in 2005-06 than in 1995-96.

Reports have also found that more parents were working full-time in 2001 compared with 10 years earlier.
