Canada most popular retirement destination

According to the latest statistics, Canada is the number one destination for British citizens looking to make the most of their golden years.

A recent survey by NatWest International Bank has been given to British expatriates living around the world.

Results of the study evaluating perceptions of quality of life, show that Canada ranked way ahead of New Zealand and Portugal as the world’s top destination for British citizens to retire.

Canada was given a mean score of 63.95 out of 80, scoring especially high in the areas of housing, natural environment, and in availability of consumer goods.

Speculations are that the rankings and overall quality of life in Canada are bound to increase for people looking to spend their retirement here.

Said David Isley, head of NatWest International Personal Banking, in a release issued Friday:"There are a number of different reasons why people relocate abroad, to be nearer to family and friends, to start a new job, or as the study demonstrates, to increase their quality of life,"

The majority of UK retirees who have retired in Canada have indicated that they are currently enjoying a much higher quality of life than before, and many more have indicated a strong desire never to return home.

A greater sense of wealth and well being has been shared by almost all who have chosen Canada as their retirement destination.
