Back to school for students in Canada

September sees Canadian schools, colleges and universities getting back into full swing. Canadian schools have seen an annual increase in the number of foreign students coming to study in Canada.

Foreign students are increasingly making Canada their destination of choice for education. Students are attracted by Canada’s relatively low international tuition fees and an international reputation for high quality education.

Since last spring, foreign students have also been allowed to work a limited number of hours off-campus, in order to supplement their income. In Alberta, this program has even been expanded to private educational institutions. Previously, international students at private instructions had been limited to working on-campus.

International students to Canada can also take advantage of a post-graduation work permit that can allow them to stay in Canada and apply their skills in the Canadian work force.
