Australian Immigration: New UK police clearance procedure

The Brisbane Character Assessment Unit of Australia's Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has announced a new trial procedure for UK police checks.

The 47P form, which is currently being revised to include this change, is a document which provides instructions for UK citizens needing to obtain a police clearance certificate for their migration application to Australia.

Police certificates are issued by The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).

These certificates cover applicants who have lived or are currently residing in England, Wales, Scotland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.

The relevant document in this case is called the ACPO Police Certificate.
