Chief economist at AMP, Shane Oliver said that the Australian dollar is well above what they were expecting: "It provides a strong lead to national income and suggests business investment overall still remains pretty robust."

A government agency has recently indicated that Australia's business investment remained strong in the fourth quarter.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics said that private new capital spending on buildings and equipment rose by 5.1% from A$19.68 billion in the third quarter to A$20.68 billion in the final quarter of 2007.

It also revealed that spending was up by 15.3% from the fourth quarter of the previous year.

Economists on average had expected that spending in the fourth quarter rose 3 percent on a quarterly basis.

"There has been no back-off in business investment," said senior economist at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Michael Workman, and he predicts that business investment would continue to grow by rates of 11-14% per year for some time, more than enough to support solid economic growth.

Workman confirmed that Australia remains on track to post economic growth of around 3.8% in the fourth quarter from a year ago, which is still well above trend.

Australia needs more business people to help its economy prosper even further. There are five types of Australian Business Visas available for highly skilled business people who need to stay in Australia for an extended period of time or have immigration in mind.

Firstly, there is the Business Travel Visa, designed for people who need to make a short business visit to Australia.

Then there are the four business visas that apply for immigration purposes.

These include the Business Owner Visa for if you have a successful management background, the Senior Executive Visa if you are employed as a senior executive in a major overseas business, the Investor Visa if you have a successful track record of managing business or investment assests, and the Business Talent Visa for high-calibre business people who own and managed a successful business of significant size.
