According to the website, Monsters and Critics, many a British immigrant is drawn to Australia’s fantastically strong economy and massive demand for skilled workers.

As Chris Evans, Australia’s Minister of Immigration has said himself at the start of an Australia Needs Skills campaign which aims to attract people of all skilled professions: "There are skilled vacancies in all states and territories in more than 90 occupations."

About 2,000 people leave Britain each week to go and make a new life for themselves Down Under.

But, as Homes Worldwide has recently revealed, Australia’s low unemployment rate is not only drawing Brits from across the ocean, but also from all other parts of the world. Expatriates flock to “The Lucky Country” from places such as India, New Zealand and China.

The Office for National Statistics has confirmed that Australia was one of the most popular destinations among those who moved abroad in 2006.

"People who have experience in Australia have decided they like the experiences they've had and choose then to seek permanent residency," commented Australia’s Minister of Immigration.
