The ongoing skills shortage in Australia has meant that construction projects across the country are finding it increasingly difficult to find workers.

Construction isn't the only economic sector to be feeling the pinch from the skills shortage. Competition from the mining industry has meant that almost all industries that need skilled trades people are finding it more difficult to attract workers from Australia’s domestic labour pool.

Recent statistics show that Australia’s economic growth is increasingly dependent on imported labour - skilled trades people who come to Australia either permanently or temporarily, to take advantage of the high demand and high wages for their skills.
